What Does Sex Feel Like?

No secret — sex feels amazing and we’ve been enjoying its pleasures for millennia!

But it may not always be what we expect it to be; and sometimes not even what our partners perceive it to be!

If you are experiencing difficulties in your sex life, consulting with a sex therapist could be beneficial in working through feelings and learning how to improve relationships.

Physically

Sex is an intimate experience that involves all parts of the body, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that its effects vary widely depending on who’s experiencing it. Some sex can feel hot while other can be cold; more orgasmic people may have more orgasms than others and taking some time to adjust is also recommended if this experience is new to you.

Emotionally, sexual encounters may feel like the culmination of all your efforts or an intense moment; other feelings could include feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed, excited, soft or open. Physically, you might notice some differences, including increased sensitivity to touch in your erogenous zones (genitals, inner thighs, ears, armpits and lips) as well as your penis becoming larger and harder due to changes in blood flow. At its heart, sex is about sensation – not about any specific experience you might have had! And given all its different forms, it is no wonder so many people find the experience exhilarating!

Emotionally

Sex can be an emotionally charged experience for men. From initial excitement when meeting their partner to feeling spiritual enlightenment when being with them, sex can bring various experiences that leave men wanting more.

If a man experiences feelings of sadness, fear or anger when with their partner, this could be a telltale sign that there are emotional issues within their relationship that require attention. Only by diving deeper will we discover what causes these sensations and how best to address them.

If a man cannot form an emotional connection with his partner, they may find sex less enjoyable and romantic. In these instances, it’s essential that they seek help from a therapist – this will allow them to address their feelings in an emotionally safe environment before engaging in sexual encounters with their partner. Though difficult at times, making emotional connections will only enhance your experience of sexual intimacy!

Mentally

Sex causes the release of natural chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin from within your brain that enhance feelings of happiness, relaxation, and decrease stress hormone levels – this is all good.

However, your mind can interfere with a pleasant and enjoyable experience of your favorite vice. From oversex preoccupation to low self-esteem and confidence issues – there is no shortage of challenges that must be managed to have an enjoyable sexual encounter.

As a rule, it’s advisable to become aware of issues before they escalate into panic attacks or destructive behavior. When this occurs, remember to keep calm and to talk openly and honestly about feelings if necessary.

Mental health professionals can also offer invaluable assistance. A therapist will offer guidance on how best to address your concerns and get you back on the right path. While this journey may be long, with effort it could pay dividends: when giving sexual activity another try in future you may be amazed at what it offers!

Spiritually

Paul asserted that sexual encounters should be seen as spiritual experiences; therefore, understanding its spiritual aspects will allow you to enjoy it even more and find its fulfillment more fulfilling.

Spirituality is a multidimensional journey that seeks to expand our minds by looking beyond ourselves and experiencing life from different viewpoints. Spiritual practice can be powerful yet difficult – this practice offers great rewards!

In order to turn sexual encounters into spiritual experiences, you should focus on connecting emotionally and intellectually with your partner. Do this by talking about matters that both of you care about, engaging in dialogue about ideas and values you both share, and acting authentically in each moment.

Candlelight or rose quartz crystals can also help deepen the connection between you and your partner, and their vibrations may help both of you feel more connected, leading to improved sex.

Regardless of your level of spiritual experience, if you’re uncertain how to approach spiritual sex it is wise to conduct some simple research. Read up on various religious traditions’ perspectives regarding sexual activity or consult your partner.

Meditation can also help create a spiritual state by clearing your mind and focusing on an activity; it may also help dissolve any preconceptions about sexuality in order to create more open, honest encounters with sexual partners.

As part of an act of sex, spiritual practices like meditation or mindfulness may help you relax and tune into what your feelings are. Perhaps try guided meditation together so you both enjoy the experience more.

As well as using meditation during and after sexual encounters, practicing pre and post meditation will allow you to release any unwanted energy that has built up during sexual encounters, making sex more satisfying and enjoyable while amplifying physical sensations.
